Srinagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today received a cheque of Rs 20.62 crores as dividend for 2005-06 from the Jammu and Kashmir Bank The cheque, with new logo and design was presented first to him by the chairman of the bank Dr Haseeb Drabu at a function here.
Dr Drabu apprised Mr Azad that the bank, which is the prime banker of the state, will continue to improve its services.
The Chief Minister was informed that the bank intends to create an independent customer relations cell which will cater to the needs of all types of customers.
The bank also intends to increase its business portfolio within the state by targetting unbanked sectors to further improve its financial inclusion.
He was told that while bringing financial know-how to the people of the state, the bank will also be partnering with the government's economic initiative to promote entrepreneurial activities and attract foreign investment.
