Whirlpool woos Indian homemaker with new range of products
New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) Consumer durables major Whirlpool India Ltd today said it is targeting a 40 per cent growth this festive season over last year, besides unveiling four new product ranges in the refrigerator and washing machine category.
The company, which has earmarked Rs 60 crore as its advertising and marketing spend during the festive season, today launched the 'Sensation Classic' front load washing machine priced between Rs 18,990 to Rs 22,990, the 'Sparkle and Verve' semi-auto washing machine at Rs 7,990 to Rs 8,290 and the 'Genius' XL refrigerator priced at Rs 10,000.
''Our four new products are specially designed keeping in mind the needs of a pragmatic modern Indian homemaker,'' Whirlpool MD Arvind Uppal told reporters here.
The products were unveiled in the presence of Whirlpool brand ambassadors and celebrity couple Ajay Devgan and Kajol.
The company will also display a multi-media campaign featuring the star couple shortly.
The festive promotion, beginning on September 15, 2006, would include the company offering an assured gift, and a scratch card on the purchase of any Whirlpool product. The company would also be offering special prices to celebrate the spirit of the season.
Assured gifts would include an intergold diamond pendant worth Rs 4,900 and an oyzterbay pearl set worth Rs 1,900, while scratch card gifts would include diamond sets worth Rs 1 lakh, Whirlpool ACs and cash discounts starting from Rs 51 to Rs 2001.
At present, Whirlpool products are available across 7,500 retail outlets in over 150 cities.
