US entrepreneurs show interest in investing in K'taka
Bangalore, Sep 8 (UNI) A high level delegation from Karnataka currently in the US was informed that many entrepreneurs from the Silicon Valley of America were interest in investing in Karnataka.
In a release here today, Karnataka Udyog Mitra (KUM), a government organisation, said the delegation led by Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Large and Medium Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu and Small Scale Industries Minister Shivanand Naik, had met more than 150 leading American and Indian entrepreneurs at the Indus Entrepreneurs Conference at Santa Clara, California, yesterday.
The delegation also visited the headquarters of Intel, the hitech software and chip design manufacturing company. A presentation meeting was organised to the Karnataka team by the seniior executives of Intel.
The team also visited semi conductor and chip design company TSMC computer which had evinced interest in investing in Bangalore. The details would be worked out by them soon, the release said.
The team comprised Commerce and Industries Department Principal Secretary K M Shivakumar, Industrial Development Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri, KSFC Managing Director Umesh and Karnataka Udyog Mitra Managing Director H L Shivananda, the release added.
