Sunny day in Delhi, return to sultry conditions

New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) It was a sunny day in Delhi today with bright sunlight and high humidity leading to a return to sultry weather conditions in the capital.

It was another day of dry weather even though the South Westerly winds provided some relief from the sultry weather conditions.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.7 Degree Celsius.

Warm and humid weather has prevailed in Delhi since Sunday with the capital experiencing dry conditions all through the week, after bountiful rains last week which saw the capital receive 210 mm of rainfall, making the rainfall in Delhi more than 20 per cent in surplus of the normal level of monsoon rainfall in Delhi during the season.

The dryness in the weather is likely to prevail for the rest of the week with the weather office forecasting only isolated rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal while mainly dry weather over the rest of NorthWest India.

In Delhi, weathermen have forecast a partly cloudy sky with only a possibility of light rains in some areas during the next 24 hours.
