Sonia appeals to Malegaon people to maintain calm

New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) Congress President Sonia Gandhi today expressed her concern at the blasts at Malegaon in Maharashtra which killed more than 30 people.

She expressed her condolence at the deaths of people who lost their life in the blasts and wished speedy recovery to those who were injured in the mishap.

Congress Spokesman Satyavrat Chaturvedi told reporters here that the party President had condemned the dastardly act of the destructive elements and said that the incident had further strengthened '' our resolve to fight against such elements.'' Mrs Gandhi also appealed to the people of Malegaon to maintain calm at such moments of crisis.

The Congress President also condoled the deaths of miners near Dhanbad in Jharkhand, according to Mr Chaturvedi.
