Shamrao Vithal takes over Shri Mahavir Co-operative Bank in Kolhapur

Mumbai, Sept 8 (UNI) The Shamrao Vithal Co-operative Bank Ltd today formally announced its entry into Kolhapur through the acquisition of Shri Mahavir Co-operative Bank Ltd.

Announcing this, the Bank's release said by virtue of acquisition of 11 branches of Mahavir Bank, it would be making its foray into Kolhapur and Sangli districts of Maharashtra as a result of which the Bank would now have an aggregate of 61 branches.

Further, the Bank said the acquisition -- made on September 04, this year-- were smooth and seamless for customers of Mahavir Co-operative Bank.

Also, the Bank has another proposal, which is under the active consideration of RBI, to acquire another urban cooperative bank having 13 branches in Bangalore.
