Sex racket busted, 9 girls, 5 boys arrested
Kapurthala, Sep 8 (UNI) Police today busted a sex racket running in a house near Kapurthala-Jalandhar road and arrested of nine girls, five boys and kingpin of the racket Balwinder Kaur alias Pinky.
Addressing a press conference here today, Superintendent of Police (Detective) Bachan Singh Randhawa said racket kingpin Pinky was running the brothel for the past four years and had already been arrested by the police and booked under Immoral Trafficking Act two times during the past two years.
However, Pinky told mediapersons, in presence of police officials, that she was allegedly running the brothel in connivance with the police, who used to take monthly bribe from her.
She said after the registration of the second case of Immoral Trafficking about a year back, she decided to leave this profession but some police officials approached her to continue the 'business' and they would provide necessary help in the running her the brothel.
She disclosed that she used to charge rs two to five thousand from each customer and mostly illeterate village girls were engaged in the business.
The SP (Detective) denied the allegations of police envolvement, but added he would look into the allegations.
Police has registered a case under sections 3,4,5,6 of Immoral Trafficking Act against the all the accused.
