Security tightened in Gujarat following Malegaon blasts

Ahmedabad, Sep 8 (UNI) Security was today tightened at various places in Gujarat following the blasts in Malegaon, a top official said.

''We have stepped up vigil at religious places, railway stations, and vital installations in the state,'' said Mr K C Kapoor, principal secretary.

He said it is part of a routine procedure which is followed everytime there is an incident like this anywhere in the country.

''We held a high level meeting today and necessary orders were put out,'' he told UNI.

Special security arrangements have also been made in and around vital installations like power stations, dams and industrial complexes, he added.
