Overseas visitor to London to get Oyster travel card in India
London, Sep 8 (UNI) To boost tourism from India, Greater London Mayor Ken Livingston has announced that Indian travellers to London will be able to buy the '' go -anywhere'' Oyster travel card in India itself.
The go-anywhere card will now be available in the country for intending travellers who will be able to buy it with Indian currency and save on their foreign currency. The price for Oyster cards start around 95 pounds and go up according to destinations in different zones and enable the holder to travel on both underground trains and buses.
Mr Livingston, who is known for his admiration for the contribution by Indians and other Asian communities to the economic growth and social cohesion in the city told the media, ''Oyster is already a proven success with Londoners and this deal will make it easier for overseas visitor to get around London.
The cards are to go on sale initially in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Spain, Portugal and even in the US.
