Nitte to pump in Rs 150 cr to upgrade its institutions
Nitte, Karnataka, Sep 8 (UNI) The Nitte Educational Trust, running 17 professional institutions, will invest Rs 150 crore in the next four years to raise the standard of its institutes on par with IITs, IIMs and NITs.
Announcing this at a press conference here, Trust President Vinay Hegde said that of the amount, Rs 50 crore would be spent on NMAM Institute of Technology for constructing buildings and procuring equipment. A roadmap had been prepared for the purpose, he added.
He said the Trust proposed to set up a centre for advanced studies and training for quality maintenance of private institutions in 2008-09, the birth centenary of Trust Founder late Mr Justice K S Hegde. Besides, 25 satellite hospitals run by the Trust would also be upgraded, he added.
