Mitsubishi to set warehousing zone over 100 acres in Noida
Lucknow, Sep 8 (UNI) Japan's largest general trading company Mitsubishi Corporation is keen on setting up a 'Free Trade Warehousing Zone' spread over 100 acres in Noida/Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
Japanese Ambassador to India Yasukuni Enoki today urged Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav to provide the required land for the purpose.
The CM has assured the envoy that the land would be made available within 45 days to the company.
Mitsubishi has over 200 operation bases in about 80 countries worldwide. Together with its over 500 group companies, it employs a multinational workforce of about 48,000 people.
The corporation has long been engaged in business with customers around the world in virtually every industry, including energy, metals, machinery, chemicals, food and general merchandise.
Meanwhile, the Japanese envoy said other steps would be taken to set up more industries in UP, which was bigger than his country in terms of population figures.
Mr Yadav also made reference to the upcoming Lucknow Industrial Development Authority (LIDA) between the state capital and Kanpur to provide an alternative industrial corridor vis-a-vis New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) and Greater Noida.
The CM appealed Mr Enoki to provide financial assistance in multitude of development, power, environmental and tourism projects costing Rs 600 crore.
The Samajwadi Party supremo promised to provide all help if Japanese entrepreneurs invested in UP, which was not only adjacent to the national capital, but offered good infrastrucutre to industry such as power, roads, water etc.
''The environment is conducive to conduct business in UP. Also, there should not be any doubt about the political stability in the state,'' the CM maintained.
UP Development Council (UPDC) Chairman and SP General Secretary Amar Singh was also present on the occasion.
