Haryana releases Rs 15 cr for Rohtak-Rewari rail track

Chandigarh, Sep 8 (UNI) The Haryana Government has released the first instalment of Rs 15 crore, for laying the Rohtak-Rewari Railway line via Jhajjar, and an equal amount has also been released by the Centre for this purpose.

Announcing this, Railway Construction Division Deputy Chief Engineer Ved Parkash, said that the construction work on this railway line would start by the end of this month which would be completed in a period of three years.

He said that the ground work and the construction of bridges on canals and channels would be completed in a period of one-and-a-half years. The tenders for this purpose have been called by the Ministry of Railways.

He said that the work of demarcation and alignment of this line had also been completed.

Mr Parkash said that this line would start from Asthal-Bohar and five stations at village Dighal, Jhajjar, Machhrauli, Palhawas and Gokulgarh would be constructed on this line and it would be a broad gauge line.

He informed that the total length of the line would be 73 km and an amount of Rs 194 crore would be invested, out of which Rs 97 crore would be provided by the Haryana government and the remaining amount would be borne by the Ministry of Railways.

Mr Ved Parkash also said that an Executive Engineer of the Railway Ministry Rajbir Singh would be appointed at Rohtak from Monday till this line was completed.
