GGP office-bearer nabbed for insulting 'Vande Mataram'
Seoni, MP, Sep 7 (UNI) GGP Minorities Front office-bearer Mohammad Ismail has been arrested in this district for issuing a clarion call to boycott singing of the National Song 'Vande Mataram', police said today.
District President Ismail was arrested last evening for violating sections 153 and 124 of the IPC and remanded to 15 days' judicial custody. He had issued a release urging members of his community not to send their children for mass singing of the song today.
GGP Madhya Pradesh President Gulzar Singh Markam told UNI in Bhopal t it would not be proper to link his party with Ismail's act.
''Until the charges are dropped, he is sacked from his post,'' Mr Markam added.
