CII signs MoU with German Association of SME
New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) In order to provide a framework to the sustainable cooperation between the SME communities of Germany and India, Industry boday CII today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bundesverband Mittelstandische Wirtschaft (BVMW- German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises).
With a membership of more than 50,000 companies, BVMW, represents the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), in Germany. The signing of the MoU marks the visit of the CII SMEs delegation to Berlin, Germany, during September 4-5, 2006.
The MoU aims to foster mutual understandings and friendship between the SME communities of both the countries and to promote economic relations such as trade, investment, technological cooperation between the two countries.
BVMW Executive General Manager Gerd Behnke stressed on a closer cooperation between the two nations with regards to the untapped trade potential as well as an expansion of the bilateral social and economic ties. He added that BVMW has a representative office in India, that would provide the necessary interface for the Enterprise-to-Enterprise cooperation, between the two countries.
Leader of CII SME delegation Pratap Mungi mentioned that as part of the look west policy, the key potential areas covering both manufacturing and service sectors, identified for cooperation with these two countries have representation in this mission.
These include Automotive components, Information Technology, Electronics and Engineering (Material handling equipments, Laser Based Manufacturing&Seamless Copper Alloy tubes).
The CII SME delegation also met the Berlin Partner GmbH as well as its existing MoU partner -- the Federation of German Industry (BDI) and stressed that the SMEs in India and Germany may cooperate and synergise, to look at the markets in EU (for the Indian industry) and the market in Asia (for the German industry), respectively.
Also as a part of the first leg of the mission programme in Germany the delegation visited Berliner Wasserbetriebe that is a member of Berliner Wasserholding AG (PLC), and one of the largest water supply and severage companies in Germany as well as rennesens GmbH -the German specialist for innovative diagnostic systems in the field of cardiology.
It was agreed that specifically their was an immense scope for cooperation in the high-end technology segments. Taking a step forward CII extended invitation to the BVMW, Berlin Partner GmbH and the Federation of German Industry (BDI) to participate at the forthcoming India Global Summit on SMEs, Partnership Summit, Enterprise and the International Engineering&Technology Fair, by bringing a delegation of SMEs and the Policy makers from Germany.
The visit of the CII SMEs delegation to Germany is supported by the Ministry of SSI, Indian government and includes representatives from Mungi Bros, Spazio Tech Solutions Pvt Ltd, Avasarala Technologies Ltd, Rishabh Software Pvt Ltd, Hercules Hoists Ltd, Magod Laser Machining Pvt Ltd, Sun Ultra Technologies P Ltd, Industrial Tubes Manufacturers Pvt Ltd and Ministry of SSI.
