BYWA expresses concern over anti-bangladeshi drive
Shillong, Sep 8 (UNI) The Bihari Youth Welfare Association has expressed serious concern over the harassment meted out to Indian citizens during the anti-Bangladeshi drive in Meghalaya.
In a letter to state Home Minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh, the Association said that on August 26, police, along with Special Operation Team and a Magistrate, raided several houses and picked up people randomly.
''The residents were not allowed to take their documents,'' the the association said adding that people, who were still sleeping, were forcibly picked up.
