BJP rejects Cong demand for CBI probe in Ujjain professor killing
Dehradun, Sep 8 (UNI) Strongly rejecting the Congress' demand for a CBI probe into the killing of a professor by some students in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP today said the state police was dealing with the issue.
The inquiry by the Madhya Pradesh police was ''objective and impartial'' and it would bring to justice the culprits behind the killing of Prof Sabharwal of Madhav College in student violence, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said.
Mr Naidu said it was not an issue which should be politicised and the BJP was confident that the culprits would not go scotfree.
The police had detained over 27 student people belonging to both the ABVP and NSUI.
The state government is capable of dealing with the situation and there is no need for a CBI probe, he asserted.
