Asian Hopmen Cup from Nov 22 in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sep 8 (UNI) Asian Hopmen Cup will be held here from November 22-26 this year.

Indian challenge pair headed by Leander Paes and Sania Mirza, besides top players of Asia, will participate in the tournament, ATF president Anil Khanna announced here.

The tournament will be played on round-robin basis with participating teams including China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Korea and India.

Each tie will consist of men's singles and mixed doubles and the total prize money is 70,000 dollar. The winner of this tournament would get direct entry in the main draw of the main event to be held in Perth, January 2007.

Mr Khanna said the Asian Hopmen Cup would give a big boost to the Asian country in recognition of their tennis activities and further promotion of tennis in Asia.
