AP is largest in the govt sector in country on eProcurement

Hyderabad, Sept 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government was in the forefront to adopt statewide eProcurement and the platform was now the largest in the Government Sector in the country.

12 Government Departments, 18 PSUs, 62 Urban Local bodies, five universities and TTD were presently using the platform with aggregated transation value of Rs 37,000 crores from 18028 tenders since past three years, according to an official release today.

In their endeavour to bring total automation of processes in eProcurement, the Government had issued orders permitting integration of electronic Payment Gateway of ICICI/HDFC banks with eProcurement platform, which provides a facility to participating suppliers and contractors to electronically pay the transation fee from the platform, using their credit cards.

The facility was mandatory for all tenders transacted through eProcurement platform. The IT&C of the state had done this as matter of good business practice, to be on par with similar type of platforms in the public and private sector, the release added.
