No Vande Mataram in Jaipur madarsas
Jaipur, Sep 7 (UNI) Muslim students in almost all madarsas in the city did not sing national song, "Vande Mataram" today.
Many of the madarsas in the Muslim-dominated localities in the walled city have been closed today to avoid any controversy over the singing of the song.
Mohammad Najibuddin, member, Rajasthan Muslim Forum, told UNI they have not received any information about the rendering of the song in the madarsas. He, however, did not confirm the closing of madarsas today, saying there was no order in this respect.
Madarsa students feel singing Vande Mataram is against the tenets of their religion and, their patriotism can in no way be linked with the singing of the song.
