New CVC Pratyush Sinha takes oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan
New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) Mr Pratyush Sinha, a 1969 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, today took oath as the new Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC).
Mr Sinha ''made and subscribed the oath of office before the President'' A P J Abdul Kalam, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.
Mr Sinha, who has succeeded Mr P Shankar, had retired as Secretary (Personnel) in July this year.
The decision to appoint Mr Sinha as CVC, which has a four-year tenure, was taken by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after consultations with his senior Cabinet colleagues and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani.
