NCP national convention in Dehra Dun on Sep 17

New Delhi, Sep 7 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party President and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar will inaugurate the Third National Convention of the NCP to be held at Dehra Dun in Uttaranchal on Septemer 17.

The convention will chalk out the party's strategy for the Assembly elections to be held in Uttaranchal in February, according to NCP leader Suraj Yadav said.

The earlier conventions were held in Nagpur in 2000 and New Delhi in 2003. On June 12, the party had held its special convetnion in Surat.

Mr Pawar,who was elected President for the third time on June 19 will formally assume charge as President in Dehra Dun convention,in which National Executive members will also be elected.The names of the persons for other posts will also be announced on the occasion.

All the senior leaders of the party, including two Union Minister Praful Patel and Ms Surya Kanta Patil, Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal and party workers would attend the convention, according to Mr Yadav.
