K'taka: Cong accuses CM of political gimmicks
Bangalore, Sept 7: The Congress in Karnataka today accused Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of indulging in ''political gimmicks'' by staying in a house belonging to a Scheduled Caste person in Mysore district.
Speaking to newspersons here, KPCC General Secretary V S Ugrappa said the Chief Minister had stayed in that house only for about three hours, keeping an eye on the byelection to the Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency, vacated by former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who recently quit the Janata Dal (Secular) to join the Congress. If the Chief Minister was genuinely concerned about the poor people, he should have stayed there longer and got to know their woes. There was also no need for him to sleep on a mattress and enjoy other facilities and sumptuous food organised by his staff in that house, he said.
He took exception to the coalition Government not releasing funds to tackle drought conditions in 13 districts in the State.
