Srinagar, Sep 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered an inquiry into the custodial death of a youth, Zahoor Ahmad, on in north Kashmir on September four.

An official spokesman today said a notice had been issued by Additional District Magistrate, Baramulla, appointing Assistant Commissioner Revenues Baramulla, inquiry officer to probe into the circumstances leading to the death of Zahoor, a resident of Brar, Bandipora.

Zahoor had died in the police station after his arrest, leading to massive protests in the area.

He said the officer has been asked to complete the inquiry proceedings both oral and documentary from the persons having any information, knowledge about the incident and would be recorded, received by the inquiry officer at the tehsil headquarters Bandipora from September 12, 2006 to September 14, 2006.

He said he had been directed to submit the report after completing the inquiry.
