Hot and humid Thursday, but it may rain on Friday

Kolkata, Sep 7 (UNI) The city today experienced a very hot and sultry weather as the mercury suddenly soared high with no rains for the last two days.

The met department said the sudden stop in the rains since the last 48 hours have led to rise in the temperature.

They have predicted that the condition would prevail for the next 24 hours after which the moisture laden clouds would pour heavy to very rains in the city.

The temperature recorded today was as high as 35 degree Celsius with a minimum 29 degree Celsius.

What added more to the people's plight was the high humidity that remained at 97 per cent.

The sky remained partly cloudy today and rains are likely to occur at a few isolated places in the next 48 hours, weathermen said.
