Jammu, Sept 7: Heavy rains and flood have caused extensive damage to the fencing along the Indo-Pak International border in Jammu and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir raising threats of infiltration.

Border Security Force (BSF) sources said the motor boats have been pressed into service for round the clock patrolling where larger area near fencing remains submerged in water for the last more than one week.

''The boat-patrolling along the border has also been intensified in low lying areas of river Chenab (Pargwal), Manawar Tawi in Akhnoor, Nikki Tawi island areas of Jammu, besides, some other parts of the 'Chicken Neck,'' the sources added.

The Tawi also caused extensive damage at two to three places and at one point near Allah Mai Ke Kothe, where three-tier fencing extending nearly 80-100 mtrs was washed away.
