DVAC arrests woman sub-registrar for graft

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 7 (UNI) The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) police arrested a woman Sub-Registrar on graft charges at Uppiliyapuram, about 55 kms from here, this evening.

DVAC sources said the Ms Heena Rajasekaran (50) demanded Rs 900 from one Selvaraj, a farmer, for registering his land to obtain loan from a nationalised bank.

Selvaraj preferred a complaint with the DVAC who laid a trap and caught the woman official while accepting the bribe in her office.

Later, she was brought here for further interogation,they added.
