Crouch scores again to give England 1-0 win in Macedonia

SKOPJE, Sep 6 (Reuters) Peter Crouch scored his 11th goal in his last 10 appearances to give England a 1-0 win over Macedonia in their Euro 2008 Group E qualifier today.

Crouch, who scored twice in England's 5-0 win over Andorra in their opening qualifying match at Old Trafford on Saturday, struck in the first minute of the second half with a volleyed shot that hit the bar and bounced down just over the goal-line.

England dominated for long periods, but were never allowed to relax as the home side counter-attacked with some quick raids and came close to an equaliser in the 85th minute when Ashley Cole needed two attempts to clear off the goal-line.

England have six points from their opening two games while Macedonia have three points from their first two matches following their 1-0 win in Estonia last month.
