Chemplast back in PVC pipe business; buys 2 Cos
Mumbai, Sep 7 (UNI) Chemplast Sanmar today announced acquisition of the PVC pipes business of two companies - Polytrusions and Vinplex.
The manufacturing facilities of the acquired companies, located near Chennai, have a capacity to produce around 25,000 tonnes per annum of a wide variety of pipes, the acquirer informed the BSE.
A pioneer in PVC pipes business in India in the 60s, but exited in the mid- 80s , Chemplast said '' With this acquisition, and subsequent investments, the company plans to establish itself as one of the major manufacturers in a few years.'' Chemplast, which has a turnover of Rs 650 crore, is presently engaged in the manufacture of PVC resins, caustic soda, chlorinated solvents, refrigerant gases and silicon wafers.
