Central, state policies responsible for DCC banks woes: Pansare
Kolhapur, Sep 7 (UNI) Veteran trade union leader Govindrao Pansare today charged that political leaders and the government's ''anti-cooperative banking policy'' were responsible for the sorry state of affairs of the District Central Cooperative banks in Maharashtra.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Pansare, who is a former State CPI secretary, said both the State and Union governments have adopted an ''anti-cooperative movement'' policy.
Political leaders in the DCC governing body are misleading the management and employees for their own selfish interests which has pushed the DCC banks into their present sorry state, he alleged.
Employees of the Kolhapur District Central Cooperative Bank propose to take out a ''morcha'' on September 10 to highlight the wrong-doings in the bank and to press for their demands, Mr Pansare, who heads the bank's employees union, informed.
