Bangladeshi smugglers shot dead by BSF in N Dinajpur
Raigunj, Sep 7 (UNI) The BSF today shot dead two Bangladeshi smugglers at Belegachhi, bordering Bangladesh, in North Dinajpur.
The security forces fired on them when they were fleeing with cattle.
In another incident, one civilian died and two smugglers were arrested by the BSF in neighbouring South Dinajpur district.
Rabi Sarkar(19), a resident of Charpara in Khidirpur under Balurghat police station, was returning home when the BSF chased the smugglers.
BSF Assistant Commandant Suman Kumar said acting on a tip off, the jawans raided Khidirpur area and mistaking Rabi for a smuggler killed him.
The forces seized 392 cattles and arrested the smugglers.
