Vande Mataram to be sung in edu institutions in K'taka tomorrow
Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) The JD (S)-BJP coalition government in Karnataka has made it mandatory rendition of 'Vande Mataram' in all educational institutions in the state tomorrow to mark the centenary of the National song.
A circular to this effect had been issued by the Public Instruction Department recently.
State Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S Horatti had on August 31 last said that ''There is no fuss about it...everybody should sing it. No one should give a caste or communal colour to our national song.'' However, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has come out with a discordant note saying that the song inspired worship of the nation which was against monotheism. Its Karnataka and Goa Secretary Mohammed Usuf said ''as per Monotheism only the creator can be worshipped and not any creation.'' UNI RS RG GM1947
