Two criminals get life imprisonment in Mizoram

Aizawl, Sep 6 (UNI) Two persons were sentenced to life imprisionment for murdering a havildar of IR battallion here today.

District Magistrate H Siku in his judgement also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5000 on both the accused Monir Ali Lasker (26) and Anwar (52) respectively.

Both the accused were the residents of Hailakandi in South Asom, police said.

According to the prosecution, Havildar K K Nath, on confidential duty at Zophai village near Mizoram-Asom border, had been brutally killed by the duo with sharp weapons on August 20, 2003.
