Three children die in wall collapse in TN village

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 6 (UNI) Three children, including two girls, were killed when a portion of the wall of a hut collapsed on them at Murungapettai village about 25 km from here early today.

According to the police, the wall of the hut in which Mookkaiyan, an agricultural labourer was residing, had weakened due to the recent rains.

The children of Mookkaiyan-- Adaikkambal (15), Neelamegum (10) and Dhanalakshmi (6) were sleeping inside the hut, when the tragedy accured. Mookkaiyan, his wife Marudambhal and his three other children were sleeping outside the hut.

Neelamegum and Dhanalakshmi were killed on the spot, and Adaikkambal succumbed to his injuries on the way to a government hospital, police added.
