Srikkanth launches his own cricket portal

Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) Former Indian skipper Krishnamachari Srikkanth today launched a new portal, www.krishcricket.com, offering cricket lovers all over the world an opportunity to indulge in their passion for cricket, with games, CDs, goodies and other entertainment.

The main attraction of the website would be the games developed exclusively for the site.

'The website has been launched with one big and six small games that can be played online or on mobile phones', the former dashing opener said in a release here.

The game with unique features and titled 'Krish Cricket Challenge' for the web version and 'Mobile Cricket Challenge' for the phone version, gives people the chance to play cricket from all its angles.

'The player can select his team, his opponent's team, the batting and bowling order, the fielding positions, the line and length of the bowling and so on', he added.

The website will track and keep a record of each user's scores and display a list of the leading performers.

Through an interesting 'Promotional Points' system, players can accumulate points that can be redeemed against membership fees, CDs and so on. 'So, the more they play, the more they can win'! Apart from the games, visitors to the website could also purchase interesting CD packs like 'Bat Like A Master', which has Srikkanth giving lessons on different batting techniques; 'World Cup 1983' featuring the semifinal and final matches and interviews with five players who played in that epic final of 1983.

He said 30 exciting moments, called Magic Moments, from the final were available as video clips for downloading on mobile phones.

For the die-hard contest enthusiast, the site had daily contests with special prizes for winners. 'More exciting contests and brain teasers are in the offing.
