Schools, colleges to stay closed in Kashmir till Sep 9

Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today extended the closure of all educational institutions in the flood- affected districts of the Valley till September nine, an official spokesman said.

The Cabinet with Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in the chair had on Sunday decided to close all schools and colleges in the state for two days in view of the flood situation and incessant rains since September one morning.

The spokesman said all government schools, government-recognised private Schools would remain closed till September 9 in Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama districts besides educational zones of Hajan and Sumbal in Baramulla district.

The administration had decided to utilise all school and college buildings in accommodating the flood-affected people.
