Rupee gain continues, closes 13 paise up at Rs 46.15/16/USD

Mumbai, Sep 6 (UNI) Strong foreign fund flows in the market has catapulted Indian currency to a high of Rs 46.15/16 against US Dollar, as it closed 13 paise up compared to the previous close of Rs 46.28 per USD, a money market trader today said.

Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 46.30/32 per USD and in mid-morning session traded at 46.24/25/US Dollar.

RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.21/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.22 per USD on Tuesday.

The six month forward premia was fixed low at 1.27 per cent and the one year forward premia was also fixed low at 1.30 per cent.

The Rupee performance against other currencies too improved, against Euro, Rupee closed up at Rs 58.92 (59.20), against Pound Sterling it closed up at Rs 86.77 (87.70) and against Yen it closed up at Rs 39.51 (39.85).
