Narain's Formula Rolon will hog limelight in J K Tyre racing
Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) Over 40 drivers from various parts of the country will vye for honours in the second round of the J K Tyre National Racing Championship to be held at the Kari Motor Speedway track in Coimbatore on September 9 and 10.
According to a press release here, the new premium racing machine Formula Rolon with a Chevrolet engine will be making its debut on Indian racing scene with India's first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan Narain's team.
The races will be held in four categories -- Formula LGB Swift, Formula LGB Hyundai and 'Formula Rolon.
The next four rounds will be held at the Irungattukottai racing track in Chennai later in this year.
In the Formula Rolon category, Team NK will be led by Ameya Walavalkar, Aditya Akkineni, Akhil Khushlani and Aditya Patel, who were not able to compete in the first round due to late arrival of wheel rims from England.
Team Meco Racing will be spearheaded by veteran Indian F2 racer Akbar Ebrahim, last year's champion Rayomand Banajee, Gautam Maini and young Ashwin Sunder while former champion Gaurav Dalal will be leading the challenge for Team Wallace Sports.
At the end of the first round, Gaurav Gill and Saran Vikram head the points table in the Formula LGB Hyundai and Formula LGB Swift classes, respectively. Gaurav has a tally of 21 points, followed by Rayomand Banaje and Ajay Kini 17 and 12, respectively.
Vikram Saran has 22 points.
