Mutton lovers in Gulf hope India to lift ban on exports
Dubai, Sep 6 (UNI) Mutton lovers in Gulf countries are hoping that India would lift the ban on its export after the World Organisation for Animal Health cautioned against the spread of foot and mouth disease in cattle.
Major hypermarkets and stores that otherwise stock the meat say they had not had supplies since the ban came into effect on August 21.
Although the market was seeking fresh sources of mutton by tapping imports from Pakistan, New Zealand and Australia, customers were still hankering for Indian mutton, a sources said.
