Muslim women take to streets in support of Vande Mataram

Varanasi, Sep 6 (UNI) Holding National Tricolours in their hands, a group of Burqa clad Muslim women took to streets here today singing 'Vande Mataram' on the eve of its centenary celebrations as National Song.

A 'Vande Mataram Freedom March' was carried out by Muslim women, intellectuals of the holy city, besides rag-picking children, from Shastri Nagar locality of the city which traveresed through various parts of the city.

Singing the National Song, the Muslim women, also urged every citizen to recite the national song tomorrow.

Later, addressing a meeting organised by Vishal Bharat Sansthan, those who carried out the march said 'Vande Mataram' was the guiding mantra of country's struggle for freedom and every body should recite it.
