Japan to participate in 'Bangalore Nano'

Bangalore, Sep 6 (UNI) Japan has evinced keen interest in taking part in Bangalore Nano, a major event on nano technology, to be organised by the Karnataka Government in the city later this year.

A Japanese trade delegation led by Mr Toru Nakayama, Director, e Ministry of Economy, today met State IT, BT and Science and Technology Secretary Anup K Pujari and held a wide range discussions on IT, BT and Science and Technology, an official release here said.

During the hour-long meeting, the delegation was apprised about the strides made by the Karnataka in general and Bangalore in particular in the fields of IT, BT and Science and Technology.

The delegation included representatives from Sharp, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Panasonic, KGS, SMK, Ikeda, NEC, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Nippon, JTB, OKI and Alphs. They were accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as well as from JEITA.

The delegation also visited IT major Infosys and IIIT-B in the city, the release added.
