Indo-Iran reaffirms need to accelerate cooperation in energy sectors
New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) India and Iran today reaffirmed the need to accelerate the implementation of all ongoing cooperation projects, including those in the energy and trasport infrastructure sectors, especially the tri-nation gas pipeline project.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, this evening, had a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Ahmedinejad. During the 15-minute conversation, initiated by Mr Singh, both the leaders agreed that a strong and vibrant India-Iran relationship is of strategic importance to both the countries and would be beneficial for peace and prosperity of the entire region.
Both the leaders expressed satisfaction at the current state of bilateral relationship which was deeply rooted in centuries of shared history and culture.
