Indian Justice Party, PDF for alliance in UP

Lucknow, Sep 6 (UNI) Indian Justice Party (IJP) and People's Democratic Front (PDF) today announced to launch a joint campaign to highlight the ''plight'' of Muslims and Dalits.

IJP president Udit Raj claimed Muslims and Dalits were facing similar problems. ''Our alliance, based on the principles of joint programme-based agitations would enable the two communities to fight for their rights.'' He maintained the state and the central governments were not giving due representation to Muslims and Dalits in jobs.

The representatives of the two organisations claimed that Muslims and Dalits were facing problems of similar nature. ''While no political party is truly coming forward to help the two, we decided to form the alliance to fight for their rights.'' To a poser, he said the IJP would continue to have strategic alliance with former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh's Jan Morcha Alliance.

''Our tie up with PDF is so far limited to holding joint programmes...in future, PDF, IJP and Jan Morcha may contest polls under a joint umbrella,'' he said, adding nothing had been decided so far in this regard.

The PDF is an umbrella organisation formed by various Muslim and other parties in an effort to highlight their plight and interests on a joint forum.
