Haryana plans to strengthen power transmission system

Chandigarh, Sep 6 (UNI) The Haryana Power Utilities has formulated a comprehensive plan to strengthen the transmission system in the state for providing reliable and better quality power to the consumers.

As part of this plan, construction work of 111 new sub-stations and augmentation of existing 77 sub-stations with an estimated cost of Rs 891 crore has been planned in the current financial year, a spokesman for the Haryana Power Utilities said.

The Utilities had commissioned ten new sub-stations, augmented 22 existing sub-stations and constructed 180.143 km long transmission lines with a total investment of Rs 95.17 crore till August 2006.

Giving details of the new sub-stations, he said these included one 220 KV sub-station at Bahadurgarh, two 132 KV sub-stations at Rasina and MIE Bahadurgarh, two 66 KV sub-stations at Gangori and Gulab Nagar and five 33 KV sub-stations at Serla, Sector 6, HUDA, Karnal, Industrial Area Narnaul, Khanak and Mohamdki.

He said the augmented sub-stations included four 220 KV sub-stations at Tepla, Rohtak, Bahadurgarh and Rohtak, three 132 KV sub-stations at Jhajjar, Dharsul and Kaithal, five 66 KV sub-stations at Chhachhrauli, Adhoya, Raipur Rani, Barnala and Maruti Gurgaon and ten 33 KV sub-stations spread over in most of the districts in the state.

He said during the month of August, three new sub-stations of 132 KV capacity at MIE Bahadurgarh, 66 KV capacity at Gulab Nagar and 33 KV capacity at Mohamdki were commissioned, three existing 33 KV sub-stations at HTM Hisar, Sanoli Road Panipat and Machhrauli augumented and 75.178 Km long transmission line constructed at a total cost of Rs 20.97 crore.
