Hanung Toys to set up exclusive home furnishing division

Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) Hanung Toys and Textiles, the largest manufacturer and exporter of Soft Toys and Soft Furnishings in India, will set up an exclusive home furnishing division at Uttaranchal with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

This was disclosed by Hanung Toys and Textiles Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, A K Gupta, launching the Walt Disney Cartoon characters in the form of Soft toys under brandname 'Play-n-Pets' and Home furnishing ranges under ''splash'' in this megapolis here today.

Mr Gupta said the state-of-the-art facility, coming up at a 25-acre area, would become operational by the beginning of next year and would have a production capacity of 20,000 metres per shift.

The facility would be set up between Rourkee and Dehradun and this would be the second furnishing division after the Hosiery complext in Noida, he added.

Mr Gupta said Hanung was the official licensee of Disney Plus toys, Disney cushions, Infant bedding and Infant Pre-school category and was also official licencesee for Hanuman Soft toys of percept picture company.

The toys range included Teddy bears, Rabbits, Monkeys, leopards, tigers, lions and other animals, besides duc-shaped pillows and hand puppets, among other things.

The Home furnishing range comprises Bed linen, cushions, pillows, towels, comforters and duvet set and a host of other products.

Replying to questions, Mr Gupta said the company was expected to achieve a turnover of Rs 175 crore this year as against Rs131 crore in 2005.

Of this, export revenue alone would contirbute about Rs 150 crore and the rest from the domestic sales.
