Goa CM to inaugurate first IATF international conference tomorrow

Panaji, Sep 6 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane will inaugurate the first International conference of teachers of French and the 33rd National Congress of The Indian Association of Teachers of French (IATF) at Dona Paula in Goa tomorrow.

Mr Eduardo Faleiro, Commissioner for NRI Affairs will deliver a key note address tomorrow on'' Dialogue of Cultures'' at the three-day (Sep 7-9) conference.

The International conference has been organised in collaboration with the French Embassy in India and Tata Consultancy Services, and Co-coordinated by Dr Anuradha Wagle from the Department of French, Goa University.

Over 180 Indian and 30 international delegates from France, Canada, Japan and Ivory Coast will participate in the conference.

The delegates, French teachers at all levels in educational institutions (Universities, colleges, schools, private establishments) will deliberate on different issues concerning training for teachers of French, given the renewed interest in language study for professional purposes in the context of globalization.

The highlights of the conference will be a special workshops by French Magazine ''Le Francais dans le Monde'' and the French Television 'TV5'.

Experts from Montreal University, University of Grenoble and the Institute of Languages, Strasbourg will also address the gathering and conduct workshop during the three-day event.
