German school children win hearts singing Indian national anthem
Monchengladbach, Sep 6 (UNI) It was an overwhelming moment for the Indians at Warsteiner Hockey Park with 20-odd German school children perfectly in tune with each other as they came up with an impeccable rendition of the national anthem.
It was a pleasant surprise with the organisers, instead of using a CD or arranging a professional band to play the national anthem, got a bunch of 20-odd bubbly school children to sing the Indian national anthem ahead of the World Cup opener involving India and Germany.
The youngsters got every word right, their pronunciation was perfect and the voice never trembled as they sang in perfect sync.
The strains of the refrain was ringing in the ears well after they had left the place and it left a lasting impression on the mind of the Indians, including the hockey players.
