Businessman murdered in busy Old Delhi market

New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) A 70-year-old businessman was allegedly killed by three people in Hauz Kazi market of Central Delhi this evening.

Om Prakash Gupta, who was into metal business sometime back but presently involved in social work, was allegedly hit by a blunt object on the head by three men at about 1630 hrs at his Sitaram Bazar shop near Hauz Kazi junction, according to a senior police official.

''Mr Gupta perhaps knew them and talked to them for some time,'' the official said.

He was found lying unconscious by his servant, with injuries on his head.

''Om Prakash was rushed to the Bansal Nursing Home where he was declared brought dead,'' said the official adding the servant was present when the three men arrived to 'meet' Om Prakash. He later went for some work and found the businessman unconscious when he returned, the official added.
