26 Anand villages face flood threat

Anand, Sep 6 (UNI) Twenty-six villages in Anand district have been alerted of possible floods.

The alert has been sounded as water discharge into the Mahi river from the Kadana dam is likely to be raised to five lakh cusecs following heavy inflow from the Mahi-Bajajsagar dam in Rajasthan.

Flood control room sources here said continued inflow from Rajasthan could compel the authorities to further increase the discharge to eight lakh cusecs.
