Togadia trishul diksha case hearing on November 13

Ajmer, Sep 5 (UNI) A court here has fixed the hearing of a case involving Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia in trishul diksha to November 13.

Yesterday the police presented the FR (Final report) in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Shukla, saying the permission to prosecute the case against the accused has not been received from the state government.

The police presented the FR against Mr Togadia along with six other accused. The accused include VHP local leaders B P Saraswat, Dinesh Agarwal, Gopi Krishan, Sarveshwar Agarwal and Janvari Lal Choudhary.

It is to be noted that inspite of a ban during the then Congress government, Mr Togadia addressed a rally at Ajmer's Subhash Park on April 13, 2003 and distributed tridents to several VHP workers there.

While returning to Jaipur, he was arrested near Kishangarh and a case against him was lodged on the grounds of 'fanning communal tension by giving a provocative lecture and indulging in anti-national activities'.

Mr Togadia was lodged in the jail for nine days and later released on bail. The police could not produce the chargesheet in the case.
