Only 'Amul' brand of milk will be available in Gujarat, shortly
Anand (Gujarat), Sept 5 (UNI) Soon, only the 'Amul' brand of milk will be available in Gujarat as the proposals mooted by the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), to have a common brand, has been cleared by all its 12 dairy union members here today.
With the acceptance of the proposal, in the meeting of these 12 dairy union members headed by Parthi Bhatol, chairman of the Rs 3700 crore GCMMF, the largest diary cooperative in the country, all their milk, which were so far sold with individual brand names like Sumul in Surat, Sugam in Vadodara, Uttam in Ahmedabad, Vasundhara in Valsad, Gopala in Rajkot and Panchamrut in Panchmahals, will now be sold as 'Amul', across the entire state of Gujarat from October 1st.
At present, the Rs 3,700 crore GCMMF markets different dairy products under the brands of Amul and Sagar.
